September? More like Booktember. We're back with the SBS book club after taking August off, with Roomies by Christina Lauren. I joined a new book club but I just couldn't get into the main pick, The Widow of Rose House, but I could get into the unofficial second choice, Portrait of a Scotsman by Evie Dunmore. There was a breakout new writing hit Talk Bookish to Me by Kate Bromley that I'm obsessed with, and the first of what I'm sure will be many now by Tessa Bailey now that I finally got my hands on It Happened One Summer. And of course, you know I read another Samantha Young book, Down London Road. All aboard the romance train!
August was filled with Scottish men thanks to three of Samantha Young's amazing books. There wasn't a book club pick this month, but I also managed to finish all of Beth O'Leary's books after finishing The Flatshare (loved), and also fell in love with Emily Henry's Beach Read (which was a surprise after PWMOV). Lily Menon's first book Make Up Break Up rounded out this month's reading. Not a bad one in the bunch this month!
It's time to wrap up the six books I read in July: The book club pick, And Now You're Back by Jill Mansell, The Switch by Beth O'Leary, Finlay Donovan is Killing It by Elle Cosimano, How to Love Your Neighbor by Sophie Sullivan, The Hating Game by Sally Thorne, and The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata.
